- Geeks with short attention spans rejoice! George Lucas has given a British comedy troupe permission to create a 20-minute Star Wars stage show. The Reduced Shakespeare Company is best known for its shortened versions of the bard’s plays. [Link]
- Here’s a sneak peek at Metallica on THE SIMPSONS. The veteran heavy metal band will appear on the show’s September 10th season premiere.
- STAR TREK: LEGACY — the new video game for PC and XBox 360 — will feature the voices of all five actors who played captains on the various series. (Quick, name them all!) The actor/captains, of course, are William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Scott Bakula, Avery Brooks, and Kate Mulgrew. The game will hit stores next month to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the original Star Trek series.
- Apparently Son of the Mask didn’t teach the world a lesson. Now, we’ll have to deal with ACE VENTURA THREE. Jim Carrey won’t be reprising his breakout role, however. The sequel will concern — in an original twist — Ace’s son. Jeff Sank and brothers Jason and Justin Heimberg have been hired to write the screenplay. Can you say direct to DVD?
