AOL Moviefone and Sony Pictures have released the R-Rated trailer (also known as “red band trailer”) for the upcoming comedy, Superbad. Watch it here, but note, there’s an age verification prompt to access it, and truthfully, it’s not all that exciting.

BUT, the “approved for all audiences” trailer I saw for this prior to the theatrical screening of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie (which can be viewed here) is hilarious. Something about nerdy teenagers getting drunk and acting crazy with Van Halen music to underscore it gets me thinking “this is my kind of movie.” Also, I read here that there’s a Star Wars thread running through the movie in a secondary storyline involving two police officers, played by Bill Hader and Seth Rogen.

Produced by Judd Apatow, Superbad also stars Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and Evan Goldberg. It opens in theaters August 17, 2007.
