Recently, we shared with you this news that Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up) and common co-worker Nick Stoller (who directed Sarah Marshall) would be working together on a new Muppet movie — and I’m sure you all scratched your heads (see Sarah Marshall Star To Pen Next ‘Muppets’ Movie).
Well, now, it seems we have a little bit of plot coming together! In an article from CHUD, we’re learning that not only do we have to worry about what these two — who typically hang out with an R-rated crowd — will do to the Muppets, but also a little about where it might go.
First off all, nothing wild and crazy will be happening with our precious Muppets; these guys are just as big a fan of them as anyone else who grew up with them would be, and the movie should be very familiar to what we know and love. As for the plot, it appears that our favorite puppets with an “M” will be putting on a big show in order to save a loved theater. The theater is in danger of being purchased and destroyed by an evil Muppet (or man??) looking to get at the oil under the theater.
Think There Will Be Blood meets, I don’t know… UHF?
Sorry, that was the best I could come up with.
