The teaser trailer for the Gil Kenan-directed City of Ember is now online at the film’s official site.
You can watch the trailer — which premieres in theaters this weekend in front of showings of Prince Caspian — in high definition at the official site, or right here in the widget below.
Also included in the widget is a countdown clock, a widget map, a news section, and a tab called “Underground,” which features some interesting underground places of the world.
The Caroline Thompson-penned film, based on the the children’s book by Jeanne Duprau, takes place in Ember, a fictional underground city lit only by generator-powered lamps that are failing. If the last light dies out, the people of Ember will be in total darkness, unless two teenagers can unlock the ancient mystery of the city’s existence that could lead its citizens to safety.
City of Ember, which is produced by Tom Hanks and stars Saoirse Ronan, Bill Murray, Tim Robbins, Martin Landau, Toby Jones, and Harry Treadaway, hits theaters October 10, 2008.

Synopsis
