A while back, Seth Rogen and his usual partner-in-crime Evan Goldberg wrote a little short called Jay and Seth Versus the Apocalypse, which starred Rogen and Jay Baruchel as two buddies living together and not getting along too well — think The Odd Couple. The only thing is that the back-drop for this little tiff just happens to be, ya know, the end of all mankind.
Now comes word that the video was so popular, that many studios fought for the rights to make a full movie out of it with Mandate Films being the victor. Apparently, they’re giving Rogen and Goldberg pretty much full control on the project and a $30 million budget, which isn’t a bad gig to stem from a short funny video; let’s just hope the apocalypse doesn’t cost all that much to create.
Seth Rogen is a busy-ass dude, so it will be a while before this gets dropped off, but stay tuned for tidbits as they fall.
