I’m only new to the world of Stephen King, so I’m still not 100% versed in his works. However, according to Marvel, The Stand is “often noted as Stephen King’s best work.” And now, it’s coming to Marvel Comics, this September.
And to celebrate, nearly a month out, Marvel has released a trailer, which you can watch here below.
Something has gone wrong”¦terribly wrong. Imagine if what you thought was just a common cold ends up as an epidemic that has the potential to wipe out the entire Earth’s population! The apocalyptic battle between good and evil based on the classic best-seller by Stephen King, beginning in The Stand: Captain Trips #1 (of 5) by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Mike Perkins, is almost here.
The Stand, originally written by King and published in 1978 as a rework of the original short story, Night Surf, was rereleased and published as the novel The Stand: The Complete & Uncut Edition in 1990. And coming to Marvel under King’s direction, the comic series will be released as 5 arcs, totaling 30 issues. The first arc will be called Captain Trips.
You can check out The Stand Sketchbook #1 for free right now at Marvel Digital Comics. Hard copies of this issue were given out for free at San Diego Comic Con last month.

That narrator was a little too into being dark and foreboding.

The Stand is definitely one of King’s finest books.
