The good folks over at TrekMovie.com have the four new Star Trek XI character poster images, which reveal Karl Urban as McCoy, Simon Pegg as Scotty, John Cho as Sulu, Anton Yelchin as Chekov.
High-res versions of the posters have not been released yet, but TrekMovie plans to have them soon, along with interviews and a possible movie spoiler. For now, check out the low-res version of the posters put together here at right (click for a larger view). [UPDATE: High res now available – click updated image here at right!]
These four new posters were distributed by Paramount at this weekend’s Star Trek convention in Las Vegas. As with the first four character posters — of Kirk, Spock, Uhura, and Nero — that were given out at the San Diego Comic-Con last month, when placed together, the four posters form the Star Trek delta emblem.
From all eight posters now released, Zachary Quinto looks eerily just like Leonard Nimoy’s Spock, which was the most important “look” to get right for this prequel. Zoe Saldana also makes a great young Uhura, and Cho and Urban really capture their characters. Chris Pine‘s Kirk seems like it will be a different take on the Kirk we all know and love, while Pegg and Yelchin also don’t really bring their characters to mind in these shots.
But I still have totally faith in J.J. Abrams vision for Star Trek XI and regardless of how the actors look in these posters, I have high hopes for their on-screen portrayals.
What do you think? How do these actors look so far in their respective iconic roles?
why, really why….

Is it just me, or is Simon Pegg unrecognizable there? I honestly wouldn’t have known it was him if it wasn’t said.

Simon Pegg looks like Simon Pegg. He just looks so miserable in all the TREK XI pictures (well the ones I’ve seen).
