Amazon is offering up Star Trek: Insurrection for purchase for only $3.99 through their Video On Demand service.
This digital deal is only for today, Monday, October 25 until midnight PST, so grab it while you can. The digital version is regularly $9.99, and the 24-hour rental is $2.99.
Visit the Star Trek: Insurrection product page to purchase the film.
Released in 1998, Insurrection is the ninth film in the Star Trek franchise and the third with the full cast of the Star Trek: The Next Generation television series, starring Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard. Its predecessor, First Contact, was a big hit, but this follow-up failed to thrill the fans.
Synopsis: When the crew of the Enterprise learn of a Federation plot against the inhabitants of a unique planet, Capt. Picard begins an open rebellion.
I thought this was a great movie, I could never figure out why it didn’t do as well. I know First Contact had the Borg in it, which is a fan favorite enemy, so perhaps that’s why Insurrection wasn’t a hit. Perhaps also because, unlike previous films, this one felt more like an extended episode of the television series. I recommend it, though, especially for this discounted price.
Visit the Video on Demand page to learn more about the service (you can stream the film right on your computer, or download it to you PC, and more).
“Released in 1998, First Contact is the ninth film in the Star Trek franchise”… I think that should say insurrection instead of first contact. Also… first

The most underrated STNG film, possibly the best. Fans who don’t like it are subconsciously disappointed that there is no travel, no cast deaths, or no Borg in it, apparently all requirements of a ST feature film.
