As much as I enjoyed the Day 1 pick “Chuck Versus the Crown Vic,” my favorite Christmas episode of Chuck has to be “Chuck Versus the Santa Claus.” The criminal’s take over of the Buy More turns the episode into a bottle episode (for those unfamiliar, a bottle episode is where the primary story throughout the episode takes place in specific and defined location and normally features the main characters trapped in the one location due to a particular reason and the story focuses very heavily on character development) and I love bottle episodes. It’s also one of the best examples of an episode where Chuck’s spy life crossovers into his real life, threatening those around him that he cares for. Also, Sarah shows just how far she’ll go to protect Chuck. It’s a hilarious and drama filled episode with several Die Hard references and is essential Christmas TV viewing.

Official Description:

THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR””Christmas Eve does not go as planned when an amateur criminal on the run from the police crashes into the Buy More and takes Chuck (Zachary Levi), Ellie (Sarah Lancaster), Awesome (Ryan McPartlin) and the rest of the Buy More gang hostage. In order to protect Chuck’s cover and the safety of the other hostages, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and Casey (Adam Baldwin) secretly go in to the store to remove Chuck, but the mission quickly falls apart when Chuck refuses to leave his friends and family behind. Tony Hale guest stars and Joshua Gomez, Scott Krinsky, Vik Sahay, Julia Ling and Mark Christopher Lawrence also star.

Join us tomorrow as we cover classic holiday episodes of The Office and let us know what you thought of “Chuck Versus the Santa Claus.”
