While the second season of ABC’s V premiered to decent ratings last night, the network isn’t slowing down any promotion for its top sci-fi show.
In an exclusive story with USA Today, ABC released an official image that shows exactly what the alien Visitors look like underneath all that human flesh. We’ve included the full image and analysis after the jump for those that want to avoid some major spoilers.
According to the USA Today piece, over the course of the second season’s ten episodes, viewers will get looks and glances at the V’s appearance, but the full alien won’t be unveiled until the season finale. Executive Producer Scott Rosenbaum had this to say on the new look:
“There is a reason the creature I ended up wanting to design looks familiar in many ways and unfamiliar in many ways. Throughout the season, you’ll be seeing exactly what the Visitors look like underneath, and while some of it will be explained as to why they look the way they do … if you look close enough and study it, you can sort of figure out what the Visitors have been doing throughout the course of history in the universe. Answers to that are revealed literally in (their) physical nature.”
I think the creature looks good in the artist rendering, but I really want to see how it looks on screen. Much like Rosenbaum pointed out, there are aspects to the creature that are recognizable, yet alien at the same time. It reminds me a lot of the alien from Alien. We’ve included the picture of the Visitor below.
What do you think about the Visitor’s true form? How does it compare to the lizard look of the 1980s V?
It’s Alien-Ant!
Think the low-tech original is better, doesn’t smack of CGI, and closer resemblance to the humanoid form makes it more grotesque.

I have to agree with Kell, that looks like some type of ant cross polinated with a Xenomorph.
CGI is getting better but the grade used in TV shows is still on the poor side, still looking akilter even in best situations

They look cool – BUT – one has to ask a question : How in hell can a creature like that shape its self to a human form ?? – lol !! maybe that will be explained later – who knows . To be honest , i am more worried about the inclusion of Jane Balder ? ( don’t get me wrong i love Jane as an actor ) but One of the things i loved about the new series it that every thing is new and fresh … i hope it doesn’t get to stale :( and recycled .
