It was back in January when Sherlock writer Steven Moffat gave some clues as to what to expect in Season 2 of the BBC series.
It’s two main stars — Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr. John Watson — have been busy working on Peter Jackson’s Hobbit movie, and while the series was originally scheduled to return in Fall 2011, it now appears that new episodes won’t air until some time in 2012.
It’s a long time to wait, if you ask me, but now at least we can get a tiny sneak peek of Season 2 of Sherlock with this new teaser promo for the show. Check it out here below.
Moffat previously stated that the three new 90-minute episodes would be titled “A Scandal In Belgravia,” “The Hounds Of Baskerville,” and “The Reichenbach Fall.”
Sherlock was one of my favorite new shows in 2010 and the dynamic between Cumberbatch and Freeman is amazing, so I was really looking forward to the series’ return. Hopefully it won’t be too late into 2012 when the new episodes finally air.

over a year between one season and another is not a good way to keep one’s fan base!
