There’s tons of news coming out of the Marvel panel today at San Diego Comic-Con, one tidbit being the full title and release date of the planned sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange.
The sequel’s title, as revealed in the film’s title card, is Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, which will be released in theaters in May 7, 2021.
We knew last December that director would be coming back to helm the planned sequel, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character.
The director posted the title card to Twitter with the hashtag #ScaryMCU, likely refers to a Gothic Horror aspect of the film, I’m assuming from this tweet by reporter Borys Kit, which states that Derrickson mentioned this.
Cumberbatch as well as Benedict Wong as Wong and Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer are confirmed to return for the sequel.
