Doom Delivery: FX American Horror Story

On October 5, 2011 at 10pm, a new series will debut on FX called American Horror Story, which revolves around The Harmons, a family of three who move from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish. The place they move into is a haunted house occupied by some very unpleasant spirits who terrorize them.

Today, an extremely rare one-of-a-kind artifact was hand-delivered to me that provides a clue as to what’s going on in the house. According to the note attached, this Empress of Doom was one of seven people to receive a full room artifact, which means that an exclusive piece of the story is mine — all the memories, horrors, and unknowns now lie in my hands, waiting to be discovered (whoa, that’s heavy duty!). My room artifact is the Living Room and it’s a Wedding Cake — yes, a totally edible cake!

See a bunch of photos here below of the fully edible wedding cake, which looks beautiful on the outside, but if you look closer, there’s a lot more than meets the eye. If you’re a horror fan, you’re really going to dig what you see.

Go register at youregoingtodieinthere.com, which goes fully interactive on September 9, to gain exclusive access to the horrors and perverse mysteries tied to American Horror Story. Those of you who register through our link will have the chance to receive an actual Living Room-related artifact of your own; you’ll also able to upload artifacts relating to the Living Room to help piece together the mystery of the house.

When we first opened the box, we saw a huge beautifully decorated white wedding cake, about 12-inches round, topped with a little plastic bride and groom. It was wrapped in fondant and had royal icing piped around the sides. The decorations on it were of items in the Living Room — a green love seat, a table lamp, and a smaller table — all made of edible fondant. Accenting the furniture was an area rug (not edible). When we lifted the rug, we found huge splatters of blood underneath. You probably can’t tell from the photos, but when we first sliced into the cake, “blood” came oozing out of it. Yes, it was a bloody, oozing mess of gory delectable cake. We took out a big chunk of the cake to inspect it, but as far as we could tell, there were no other “clues” contained in or around the cake. I didn’t eat a piece, though I did swipe my finger across it a few times and it was SO good (it’s a vanilla cake with strawberry-flavored “blood” filling with a cream frosting, covered in fondant). Needless to say, this cake is starring back at us right now, calling to us. I think I’m going to have nightmares of it beckoning me to indulge! Tomorrow, I’m having people over to eat it, so I’ll update the post if I find anything else in it.

What could this cake mean? Is this a couple who previously lived in the house? Were they murdered on their wedding night? Was this their wedding cake? Well, we know someone was murdered. I’m sure we’ll learn more about the secrets of the house when their site goes live and as the premiere draws near.
