“Keith Richards is shooting heroin into his eyeballs and still touring all right! I’m getting mixed signals! I picture nuclear war and two things surviving: Keith and cockroaches!” – Bill Hicks
Keith Richards, the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist and part-time pirate, is about to become a movie star. Sort of.
A film based on Richards’ best-selling autobiography Life, published last year, is in the works, according to a recent interview the famed Stone gave to the British website The Telegraph after receiving Writer of the Year honors at the GQ Men of the Year Awards. Richards said in the Telegraph interview, “There are feelers out at the minute [but] I’m in no rush right at the moment. Also, how are they going to find me? The idea of a succession of Keith Richards coming down is horrifying.”
Nothing is set in stone yet, no deals have been finalized, and no director or stars are even attached, so right now this is little more than a happy rumor. In the meantime, Richards is working with actor Johnny Depp on a documentary. Keep your fingers crossed folks; a Richards biopic has the potential to be memorable no matter if it’s good or not.

Keef! I can’t wait; will Depp have the chops/balls to play ‘i’m? Who’s gonna be Graham Parsons and Bobby Keys? Oh yeah, and that Jagger dude?
