Space itself has been a nasty antagonist to humans. From Aliens to Gravity, humans have not fared well with whatever is out there. Now Sony has released a new trailer for Life, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Olga Dihovichnaya, and Ariyon Bakare as a team of astronauts who are on a mission to find new life on Mars. Their mission is a success, but as we all know, success has a price.
Check out the new trailer below.
Life has echoes of any terrifying alien film we have seen, combined with the science of space that we’ve seen in films like Gravity or The Martian. It should be interesting to see which one will overshadow the other. But a thriller like Life should be a fun watch, nonetheless.
The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House), who uses a script written by the Deadpool writing duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
We’ve posted both domestic and international trailers for your viewing pleasure.
Life hits theaters on May 26th, 2017.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.
