It’s the news I’ve been waiting for. Sony Online Entertainment announced today that their DC Universe Online MMO will go to a free-to-play in late October.

Players will be able to download and play the once costly title absolutely free through both the Sony Playstation 3 and PC. But those who have paid, don’t freak out just yet, you’re still going to get something. In fact, in this same announcement, SOE also stated that they will be offering three different tiers of membership: Free, Premium, and Legendary.

As Marjane Satrapi‘s latest work, the cinematic adaptation of her beloved Chicken With Plums, makes splashes on this year’s Fall film festival circuit, one of her most adored works has finally found a state-side release date.

Archaia Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing the English-language version of the writer’s praised work, The Sigh during the month of November. The piece clocks in at 56 pages in length, and with the price tag of $10.95, it is definitely a must-own for fans of graphic novels or Satrapi alike.

The comic book world has been rocked, as one of its better known artists has passed. Dutch outlets (via Bleeding Cool) are reporting that artist Minck Oosterveer died on Saturday from a motorcycle accident. He was 50 years old.

Best known for his work on books like Marvel’s Ruse and Boom Studio’s Zombie Tales and The Unknown, Oosterveer was an important name not only in the comic book world, but particularly in the Dutch comic industry, where he produced strips like Zodiac and Nicky Saxx.

Lou Reed and Metallica have released a 30-second preview of the song “The View” from their upcoming collaboration album Lulu.

His wealth of experience and talent prevented them from being just another “˜supergroup’ and helped them become a hard-rockin’ hard rock party band.

Their self-titled debut album was a huge success as were the live performances captured on the DVD Chickenfoot: Get Your Buzz On LIVE. These legends of the genre return with their second album, the confusingly named Chickenfoot III on September 27th. Early reviews suggest it’s better than the first.
