Joining the discussion for this episode is Jeremy Rosen from Roadrunner Records (who kindly brought along some Opeth and Dream Theater for us to play) and musician Terr Ciavarra aka Media Nox.
Like many episodes of Social Blend, we discuss of lot of things posted right here at Geeks of Doom, including the recent facepalm article from Yahoo! claiming Iron Maiden‘s Fear of the Dark and Ozzy Osbourne‘s Bark at the Moon are among the worst metal albums. After we crucify the HerpDerp who made the claims, we also talk about Gene Simmons from KISS getting married as well.
But while the geek talk of music (and Doctor Who at one stage as well!) is always fun, we do delve into the serious topics of the week, including what we consider to be the most important: the Occupy Wall Street movement. The protest and the message just don’t seem to be getting the focus they deserve in the mainstream media, and we take a look at how the television news is trying to undermine the movement.
Social Blend is a podcast I co-host with my good friend, Jay Fowler aka SilentJay74. Initially designed as a social media discussion, the show has since evolved into a meandering conversation with no respect for the rules, and a strong embrace of all things geek culture.
