Back in September we started hearing names that could step in and replace Thor director Kenneth Branagh on the planned sequel after he had decided that he would not be returning. One of the names that was said to be at the top of the list was Patty Jenkins.
Now comes confirmation by Marvel Studios that Jenkins will indeed be taking on Thor 2, which was originally set for a July 26, 2013 release but has since been moved into the November 15, 2013 spot, interestingly enough.
Jenkins is a very curious choice for the job, one might say. Her previous credits include Monster, which nabbed Charlize Theron an Oscar for Best Actress, as well as episodes of Arrested Development, Entourage, and the pilot episode of The Killing. Unless she’s a closet comic book fanatic, however, fans may not know what to think of Marvel’s choice. But then again, everyone thought hiring Branagh was a strange move as well.
What do you think about Patty Jenkins directing Thor 2?

this has stinker written all over it…bring back Branagh (Thor 1) he did he a fantastic job. The first one was funny, relatable, and a well told tale.
