The ever-busy Guillermo del Toro is developing yet another project, this one as a potential new series for HBO.

The project is titled Monster, and is based on the Japanese manga of the same name by Naoki Urasawa. It follows a doctor who’s on a worldwide search for a 12-year-old boy he once saved—a boy that also happens to be one of the most evil psychopaths ever to exist, and who’s planning to commit mass genocide if the doctor doesn’t find and stop him.

After an 11-year gap between albums last time out, KISS stomped on the heads of the naysayers and showed the world they were once again (or always were) a relevant band in rock and roll with love guns at the ready. Realizing they were on to something good, they wasted little time in releasing the appropriately titled Monster.

KISS teased us with “Hell Or Hallelujah” way before the release and it gets Monster off to a flier with its infectious guitar riff and superb Paul Stanley lead vocal. We all know the life story of Gene Simmons‘ monster, but he has thankfully put it away long enough to put his mind to better use. “The Devil Is Me” and “Eat Your Heart Out” bounce along on that trademark groin-rumbling bass sound and he is up to his usual tricks on the gloriously filthy “Take Me Down Below.”

Today’s double-shot of creature features will turn even the most experienced sailor into a bellyachin’ landlubber. I present to you Jack Arnold‘s 1954 classic, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Steven Spielberg‘s 1975 blockbuster, Jaws.

Back in September we started hearing names that could step in and replace Thor director Kenneth Branagh on the planned sequel after he had decided that he would not be returning. One of the names that was said to be at the top of the list was Patty Jenkins.

Now comes confirmation by Marvel Studios that Jenkins will indeed be taking on Thor 2, which was originally set for a July 26, 2013 release but has since been moved into the November 15, 2013 spot, interestingly enough.
