| Rumor For Your Thoughts: Could Viggo Mortensen Be Playing Dr. Strange In ‘Thor 2’?
Rumors are always fun. Sometimes they turn into something, sometimes they prove to be nothing at all. Today comes an intriguing little rumor (or rumors) involving the Marvel universe, but it’s not one that’s been created out of nowhere. This one might just have a bit of backing. According to Roger Wardell, who’s been sharing supposed insider Marvel bits via Twitter—many of which have turned out to be accurate or make plenty of sense—Marvel is in negotiations with Viggo Mortensen for an unspecified role in one of their “Phase 2” movies, which are the group of films that will lead to The Avengers 2. He later stated somewhat cryptically that there is something “Strange” about Thor 2, which is titled Thor: The Dark World, possibly indicating the inclusion of a one Dr. Strange.

| SDCC 2012: Titles & Release Dates Announced For ‘Thor 2,’ ‘Captain America 2,’ ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’
At the beginning of the Iron Man 3 panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2012, Marvel president Kevin Feige revealed the official titles, release dates, and logos for some of the Marvel Studios’ upcoming titles. Feige revealed that the titles and release dates for Thor 2 and Captain America 2 would be Thor: The Dark World, arriving in theaters on November 8, 2013, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which will be released on April 4, 2014. | Mads Mikkelsen Will No Longer Play The Villain In ‘Thor 2’With Thor 2 scheduled to begin filming later this year, the cast and crew are getting ready for another go around in Asgard and on Midgard. Unfortunately audiences won’t be seeing an exciting villain prospect. Sources have confirmed that Mads Mikkelsen, once thought to be joining Thor 2 as an antagonist, will now not be playing as the villain of the film. Due to his commitment to the new Silence of the Lambs TV series on NBC, Mikkelsen had to pull himself out of the project.

| Zachary Levi Nabs Fandral Role In Marvel’s ‘Thor 2’Chuck and Tangled star Zachary Levi is heading towards another big name movie, and he continues to be as dashing as ever. Levi is in talks to replace Josh Dallas as Fandral in Thor 2. Dallas is unable to reprise the role of the dashing character, as he has a commitment to the ABC show Once Upon A Time. Ironically Levi was offered the role before Dallas was, but Chuck was picked up for one final season and he had to stay. According to The Hollywood Reporter, talks are in the early stages, but Levi will most likely accept the role.

| New Release Dates For ‘The Lone Ranger’ & ‘Thor 2’ Announced |

Two of next year’s most anticipated blockbusters are getting their release dates shifted. Gore Verbinski‘s big screen adaptation of The Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer has moved from May 31st to July 3rd, pitting it against Despicable Me 2 and 20th Century Fox’s 3D re-release of Independence Day. Meanwhile, the Marvel Studios sequel Thor 2 being directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) will now open on November 8th instead of November 15th, giving it a much-needed two-week head start before the release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The Thor 2 release date move is a canny one as it will need all the time it can get before Catching Fire is released. While there’s no doubt that the original Thor was a successful film and has seen its following grow substantially in the wake of The Avengers, the first Hunger Games has the greatest appeal to younger moviegoers, particularly since both movies will be competing for those all-important holiday season dollars.
