While it may sound a bit silly at first glance, something has this writer thinking that this sucker may ultimately be far more entertaining than it has any right to be.

Variety is reporting that Universal is hard at work on developing a film entitled Leonardo, based on a spec script penned by Jonny Kurzman. The film would follow a young Leonardo da Vinci, and his exploits.

Not much else is truly known about the film, but with producer Lawrence Gordon aboard, this looks to be something Universal is hellbent on bringing to theaters. I think the premise sounds enticing, and the idea of seeing a da Vinci film of this nature could be rather cool. That said, it has to be given the right deal of respect, something that has yet to be seen with regards to this film. Overall, while hopes aren’t too high, this is definitely something to keep an eye on.
