Finally! The heroes begin to join together in Elric: The Balance Lost #5. Hawkmoon and Elric, Corum and Eric Beck. Four worlds collide leaving two universes. After the merging, they find themselves face to face with their allies and opponents from those other planes of existence. No matter where or when, the followers of Law are always pitted against the agents of Chaos.

We discover that the merging could be the result of Beelzebub coming into contact with the lower planes. As a result, all of the heroes begin a journey towards the city of Tanelorn, since it exists in all planes and times. Hawkmoon and Elric remember one another, but Eric and Corum are allies only by default. This issue is all about cementing alliances and setting our heroes and anti-heroes on the path towards balancing the multiverse. New information springs forth and a soul drinking sword ends up in the hands of the enemy. Any other specifics that I might tell you would ruin the comic, so I’ll stick to generalities.

This is where the story starts to really turn up the heat. The plot is set, the path laid out, so the journey begins. If you have yet to take my advice and grab this series, then you are losing out. Find all of the previous four issues and this one as well. Read them and get ready for one hell of a ride. Gods and demons, heroes and villains, this story has it all. Best part is it’s hard to tell if the heroes are really heroes or not. Elric wields a sword that transfers souls into energy to keep him alive and healthy. How can something that evil and vampiric be the weapon of our hero, you ask? Well, read the series to find out. The original books are classic fantasy at it’s best, too. There, now that you know what you need to buy…go get them!
