Christmas is coming early for those of you who may find yourselves as fans of the franchise Star Trek.
First up, Deadline has revealed the release date for the upcoming sequel, which as of the writing of this piece doesn’t have an official title. The film will open on May 17, 2013, making it the belle of the 2013 Memorial Day Weekend ball.
Want some more great news? ComingSoon recently spoke with composer Michael Giacchino, who revealed that he will be back for the new film.
Personally, while neither of these news stories are all that shocking, the addition of Giacchnio back into the film’s fold really makes this writer excited. I’m not a huge fan of the first film in Abrams’ take on the franchise, but if there is one thing that stands above the rest as something truly great, it’s Giacchino’s score. It’s so damn good, that the idea of seeing Abrams go this one without his sonic right hand man would have been too tough to handle.
