Taylor Swift and Amanda Seyfried Offered Roles In ‘Les Miserables’

Taylor Swift

Coming hot off his Oscar win last year for The King’s Speech, director Tom Hooper could pretty much do anything he wanted, even cast Taylor Swift in his next film.

Twitch is reporting that Swift and Amanda Seyfried have been offered the roles of Eponine and Cossette, respectively, in Hooper’s upcoming big-screen adaptation of Les Miserables.

They join the likes of Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Eddie Redmayne. Personally, while I’m oddly intrigued by the idea of seeing Swift in a musical like this, it’s Seyfried who is shockingly enticing here. She is apparently an opera-trained singer, so the talent and potential for greatness are definitely there. Save for Swift, this cast is absolutely killer, and could be one hell of a return to form for the musical genre. Les Miserables hits on December 7, 2012 so expect a lot more news coming from this sucker soon.
