Well anyone who’s been watching The Walking Dead knows that the days of wine and roses aren’t coming any time, especially in the wake of the events of the mid-season finale. Last Sunday AMC aired a special sneak preview of the upcoming mid-season premiere episode titled “Nebraska” after Hell on Wheels.

So far the show’s second season has been shockingly uneventful and plodding with only an occasional surprise to disrupt the ennui. I hope that the action and drama picks up in the final half of the season, and when I say “action” I don’t mean more repetitive zombie attacks. There’s so much potential for character development here that isn’t being exploited and it’s a shame that some of the show’s best actors are relegated to the background. I can only hope that the show’s creative fortunes are reversed and it starts to grow into the television classic it can be.
