It’s being reported that Kristen Wiig, the Saturday Night Live alum and star of the hit comedy Bridesmaids, is now in negotiations to join Ben Stiller in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

The movie, which is based on the 1939 James Thurber short story and a remake of the 1947 film of the same name that starred Danny Kaye, Virginia Mayo, and Boris Karloff, will also be directed by Stiller.

Stiller plays Mitty, the photo manager at a magazine who often daydreams about himself going on great adventures, until one day he finds himself on a real one while trying to track down a missing negative. Wiig would play his co-worker and the girl of his over-active dreams.

At the moment, the hope is to begin production on The Secret Life of Walter Mitty by April.
