Very few names pop up that are quite as harsh on the ears as one Tim Burton.
Over the past few years, Burton’s career has fallen on hard times, making a fine amount of money at the box office, but becoming something of a critical pariah. But now, as producer, things may be changing as he’s got one hell of a cast for his next flick.
THR is reporting that both Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds have joined the cast of his new project, a biopic entitled Big Eyes.
The film will follow the story of painters Margaret and Walter Keane, whose “pop-eyed paintings became a sensation in the 1960s.”
While I’m not all that familiar with the family or the duo’s works, this does sound like something Burton could do well. The film will be helmed by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, who are also behind the film’s screenplay, which has drawn quite a great deal of attention. Personally, I’m not at all a fan of Burton’s pieces, but his best films are his biopics. Hopefully this sucker can be half the film that Ed Wood truly is.
