The sixth video production blog from The Hobbit has been released and you can watch it here below.
Now that filming at the Hobbiton set has wrapped director Peter Jackson and his hale and hearty cast and crew have taken the production to even more scenic locales in New Zealand, which has no shortage of gorgeous scenery. Andy Serkis, obviously returning as Gollum, is also enjoying his new job on the shoot as second unit director and gets to go up in a helicopter to film scenic footage… in 3D!
We also get to see dwarves rolling down a river in barrels. Damn, the Kiwis sure know how to make an arduous film shoot tons of laidback fun. Cast members Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, and the numerous actors playing the dwarves as well as members of the crew share their thoughts and anecdotes from the production.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens in theaters on December 14, 2012. The Hobbit: There and Back Again will be released on December 13, 2013.
