Seth MacFarlane, creator of animated series Family Guy and American Dad!, was on hand at the South by Southwest film festival to show off the first footage from his upcoming feature film directorial debut, Ted.

The movie is said to be a hard R-rated comedy about a man whose childhood teddy bear comes to life, and happens to be a swear-happy pothead and troublemaker. It stars Mark Wahlberg as the man whose childhood wish comes true, and MacFarlane is playing the teddy bear via motion capture performance.

The movie also stars fellow Family Guy cast members Mila Kunis and Patrick Warburton, as well as Joel McHale and Giovanni Ribisi.

It hits theaters on July 13, 2012.
