Iconic zombie horror movies Demons and Demons 2 are getting deluxe releases on DVD and Blu-ray and a limited edition Blu-ray steelbook. Co-written by European horror godfather Dario Argento (Suspiria, Deep Red) and directed by Lamberto Bava (Macabre), the grisly demonic flick and its equally disturbing sequel will be available in the UK on April 30, 2012.
Each release comes with interchangeable artwork, double-sided fold-out poster and books 1 and 2 of the Demons 3 collector’s comic.
Released theatrically in 1985, Demons, the story of a group of cinema goers desperately trying to not get their faces chewed off by a group of flesh-hungry demons, is famous for its horrific gore and simplistic story.
Coming the following year, Demons 2 is the equally gory sequel and is notable for the first on-screen appearance of Dario’s daughter, Asia Argento (xXx, Land Of The Dead). This time, a demon is accidentally revived and crashes through a television screen turning the residents of an apartment block into ravenous zombies.
Demons 3 is the first genuine sequel to Bava and Argento’s horror masterpieces. The comic book written by Stefan Hutchinson and Barry Keating with artwork by Jeff Zornow and Peter Fielding is set in the 16th Century and a plague of demons could threaten to take over the world.
You can pre-order Demons (DVD | Blu-Ray) and Demons 2 (DVD | Blu-ray) from Amazon.co.uk.
A limited edition Blu-ray steelbook of Demons and Demons 2 is also available to pre-order.
