Things that go bump in the night. The primal unknown that can make anyone lose sleep. It’s a simple concept that we can all relate to, which is why the original Paranormal Activity struck such a nerve. Audiences loved it, and it made over 12,500 times its budget in profit. So it’s not surprising Paramount has been churning out sequels every year since.

As with the previous films, Paranormal Activity 4 features “found footage” captured by the characters themselves. Each film as found put a unique spin on how the footage is captured, but the result is the same. This time, the audience is shown an amalgamation of footage captured from web cams, digital cameras, and, in a less-than-subtle piece of product placement, feedback from an XBOX Kinect setup. Unlike the previous films, however, this one offers no explanation for when or how the footage was found and put back together. This was the first sign that storytelling was not a high priority this time around.

Iconic zombie horror movies Demons and Demons 2 are getting deluxe releases on DVD and Blu-ray and a limited edition Blu-ray steelbook. Co-written by European horror godfather Dario Argento (Suspiria, Deep Red) and directed by Lamberto Bava (Macabre), the grisly demonic flick and its equally disturbing sequel will be available in the UK on April 30, 2012.

Each release comes with interchangeable artwork, double-sided fold-out poster and books 1 and 2 of the Demons 3 collector’s comic.

A post-apocalyptic novel set in a world where angels have taken over (not the cute Valentine’s Day card, but the biblical “we destroy everything in our path” type), Angelfall establishes a version of Earth that has become a wasteland and battle ground for the squabbles between angels and fallen angels. In the midst of this, a teenage girl, Penryn, finds herself caught up in the angel drama when she witnesses a fight and gets caught in a skirmish between some feuding angels. One minute Penryn carries her younger sister, Paige, down a flight of stairs, and the next, she witnesses the Archangel Gabriel dying (apparently, there’s footage of him being gunned down from the pile of rubble that was Jerusalem). She sees some angels ganging up on one in particular (“Snowy,” as she calls him), and they cut off his wing, which is the equivalent of castration for an angel.
