Folks, if we didn’t already have enough reasons to line up on opening day at least seven hours before the theater doors unlock to be the first in our cities to see The Avengers, we just got another one.
In the category of Extremely Obvious But Awesome All The Same News today, Warner Bros. made the announcement on their WB 411 Exhibitor Services website that a new trailer for their forthcoming Bat-blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises will debut before The Avengers, when it opens almost two weeks from now. The trailer will run before 2D, 3D, and IMAX 2D and 3D showings of the Marvel superhero spectacle.
The anticipation for The Dark Knight Rises is even higher than the previous film in the Christopher Nolan-directed rebooted Batman franchise, but the WB hype machine has sort of been wheezing this time around. No matter though; Nolan has yet to let us down and if the rumors are true he’s taking his final Bat-film into some daring and unexpected territory.
The Avengers opens on May 4, 2012. The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20, 2012.
