Like The Last Voyage Of The Demeter, Harker has found some new life after being put on the shelf. With director Neil Marshall set to captain The Last Voyage of The Demeter, Harker will be directed by none other than the master of contemporary blood and gore himself, Eli Roth.
Roth replaces Jaume Collet-Serra, who was originally set to direct the film for Warner Brothers. However, the film hit somewhat of a snag due to scheduling conflicts with Collet-Serra’s projects. So according to a reports, Roth is now taking the reins for the film that centers on a Scotland Yard detective on the search for the blood sucking vampire. Russell Crowe was once attached to play as Harker, but the site now confirms that he will indeed be playing the vampire.
Roth has proven himself to have an understanding of the horror genre, but this will be his first major film since 2007. Still, in that five-year absence Roth has been in a couple of projects that’s kept him busy. As for Crowe, you will be able to see him this year in Les Miserables, and next year in Noah and Man of Steel.
Warner Bros. is hoping to put Hawker into production next year. What do you think of Eli Roth and Russell Crowe working together on a Dracula pic?
