Christopher Nolan‘s good luck charm has taken the form of Michael Caine. Or it could be the other way around. Either way the two being together is mutually beneficial. The actor as appeared in almost every film that Nolan has directed, and with the two collaborating on their respective films, they have done very well at the box office. But what will happen in the future? While we know that this will be Nolan and Caine’s final Batman-related film, the actor says that they will be working together again very soon.
In a recent interview, Caine said that Nolan has an idea of a new project and that he is in it. But Caine did not elaborate on what kind of project it will be.
Here’s the exact quote:
“He’s got to go on, he’s got some other idea, and I’m in it! I’ve been in everything he’s done since he’s been in Hollywood. We’re each others’ good luck charms. I always say to him, ‘I’m not your good luck charm, you are mine!'”
There is a bit of embellishing on Caine’s part, since he wasn’t in Memento or Insomina. But I digress, the two have been working together for quite some time, and each time that they’ve worked together, they’ve brought on success.
But I am more concerned with what this “other idea” is instead of Caine and Nolan working together. The latter part is just an added bonus to Nolan’s next mysterious directorial effort. Nolan has stated that he will not work on any of the reboots for future Batman films, nor will he work on the Justice League movie. So let’s hope that Nolan’s next feature will be an original one.
