Yesterday we brought you an interesting alternate opening to Marvel Studios’ The Avengers that will appear as an extra on the forthcoming Blu-ray. Today, another deleted scene from the movie has been released online.
You can watch the scene here below.
The scene acts as an alternate introduction to Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), better known to us as Captain America, and prefaces his first scene with S.H.I.E.L.D. honcho Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in the final cut. We see Cap going about his everyday life in the modern world: pining for his lady love Peggy, riding the subway, and flirting with a coffee shop waitress (Ashley Johnson) who was briefly glimpses being saved by Captain America during the final battle with Loki and the Chitauri. This deleted moment also provides us with a brief look at the MetLife building that was replaced digitally in the final film with Stark Tower, which Steve can be seen sketching during his conversation with the waitress, as well as yet another priceless cameo by the Man himself, Stan Lee.
The Avengers will be available on the home video viewing format of your choice – save for VHS, Betamax, and laserdisc – on September 25, 2012: Blu-ray, DVD, and four-disc combo pack.
