Relativity Media and Reel FX have announced that they will be joining forces to co-finance and produce a new animated comedy titled Turkeys.

The movie stars the vocal talents of Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, Cars) and Woody Harrelson (Zombieland, The Hunger Games), and is directed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears A Who!). It’s currently scheduled for a release at some point in 2014.

Turkeys tells the story of two turkeys from rival sides of the track who need to forget about their differences and team up to try and find a way to get people to stop eating turkey…which involves traveling back in time.

The movie is written by John Strauss (The Santa Claus 2) and David l. Stern (Hotel Transylvania), with a rewrite done by Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part II). All three gentlemen will also be producers on the film, as well as Scott Mosier, who produced most of Kevin Smith’s works.
