We all have to grow up some time and former Spy Kids star Alexa Vega has been doing a lot of growing up recently. She stars in Robert Rodriguez‘s Machete Kills as a femme fatale-like character named Killjoy – seems appropriate for this kind of movie. While she previously posted a picture of herself before shooting her scene, the photo below is the first official image of her on set.

Vega is now 24, and obviously she has really grown up to be a very sexy mature young woman. Hard to believe that she was that young child in those silly Spy Kid films. She revealed the new image of herself on her instagram account.

Though this is another image from the film, it doesn’t tell us anything about the plot itself. We know that the film revolves around Machete (Danny Trejo) being recruited to stop an arms dealer from launching a deadly weapon into space. Rodriguez has completed principal photography for the film and has begun production for Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For.

Machete Kills also stars Amber Heard, Mel Gibson, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, William Sadler, Charlie Sheen, Demián Bichir, and more. Road Films plans to release Machete Kills some time in 2013.
