We haven’t heard a whole lot about the third installment in the Chronicles of Riddick trilogy, titled simply Riddick, since we got a peek at that first set photo of star Vin Diesel back in January.

Now comes word that Universal Pictures has set an official release date for the trilogy-maker, which continues the stories told in Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, reserving the September 6, 2013 spot.

Riddick also stars Katee Sackhoff, Karl Urban, Dave Bautista, Nolan Gerard Funk, Bokeem Woodbine, and Jordi Molla. It is directed by David Twohy.
