When the London Metropolitan Police cannot cross the law, they have the Sweeney Flying Squad to do their dirty work. But when the law catches up to the Sweeney and they are faced with an old enemy, the squad is forced to think like criminals in order to stop the greatest one of them all.

The film stars Ray Winstone, who takes the role of Jack Regan, the head of the Sweeney Flying Squad. Ben Drew will play his loyal partner George Carter, and Golden Globe-winner Damian Lewis will play their no-nonsense boss.

There are some nice things about the trailer; I do like how these cops play by their own rules, and the fact that it might be used against them in a botched operation is a nice twist. But I can’t help but feel that these rule breakers going against regulation will run its course very quickly. Hopefully they are saving the best for the actual film, because if this is the best they have to offer, I might be hesitant to see it. The film also stars Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger).

The Sweeney may have already debuted in theaters in the UK, but it hits theaters here in the U.S. and on iTunes on March 1st.
