‘Iron Man 3’ Star Gwyneth Paltrow Says There Will Be No ‘Iron Man 4’

While Marvel generally contracts its stars to multiple films, it doesn’t mean that they are signed on to appear for the entire duration of one. Aside from the three standalone films, there are also films like The Avengers and cameo roles. So the one film that started it all, may finally come to an end.
Iron Man 3 is due out in theaters in next week, but as to whether or not there will be a fourth one with the same cast remains to be seen. But one of its main stars, Gwyneth Paltrow, seems to think that there won’t be an Iron Man 4.
In an interview with Kevin McCarthy of Geek Nation, Paltrow talked about the bleak possibility of an Iron Man 4 happening:
“I don’t think there’s going to be [an Iron Man 4]. I think we’re done with Iron Man.”
Now it’s very possible that there will be an Iron Man 4, but it would just move on without her. Or it could very well continue on with her, but she would return for a very reduced role. Whatever the case may be, Paltrow doesn’t have the final say in casting. But that doesn’t mean she is completely off base. Both Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr.‘s contracts end after Iron Man 3.
So let’s consider if her statements are indeed true. Kevin Feige has said that they would take a James Bond approach for the Iron Man franchise. So there would be no reboot, but instead a continuation of a storyline. Remember, Marvel has a long list of story arcs at their disposal, and they haven’t even touched the “Demon in a bottle” story arc yet.
Speculating beyond The Avengers 2 and into Phase 3, it would be really hard to see a true Avengers trilogy without having seen Iron Man at least one more time in his own film. Only time will tell whether or not there will be an Iron Man 4.
if there is iron man without Robert Downey Jr then there would be a big disappointment :(

I’d miss all these guys, but I’m more than willing to give another cast a fair shot. Sure they’ve got big boots to fill, and for some they can’t be filled, but I think the Bond analogy is apt, and it hasn’t hurt that franchise in the least.

God love the Iron man franchise just gutted to hear that RDJ will not be iron man no
more :( :(
I think there will not be an ironman4. But ironman(tony stark or the suit itself) will definitely be coming out again; avengers2 and maybe other film. This is how i feel. They wont throw away a good material, even if there is no budget/cast for a stand alone film.

Where there’s money there will be Iron Man 4.
Even if it has to be recast.
(which would suck. Who could possibly play Tony Stark better than RDJ?)
