Nearly a year has passed since we’ve reported on anything regarding the Black Panther movie from Marvel Studios. In fact the last bit of news about Black Panther was that Marvel was rumored to be working on the film. Well that rumor is pretty much a fact, but as to where the character fits into which phase of the Marvel cinematic universe, remains a mystery. A solo movie would obviously go into phase 3, but there are rumors circulating that the character could make an appearance in The Avengers 2.
So Latino Review is reporting that 42 star Chadwick Bosemen is one of the stars who could sign on to play the Prince of Wakanda. Hit the jump for more info.
LR reports that nothing is set in stone, and that Boseman has yet to receive anything close to resembling an offer, but that he is on the top of a shortlist of actors that Marvel wants. Chadwick is relatively new to the business, but his stock has recently seen a spike because of his leading role in 42. Morris Chestunt recently stirred up some controversy when he twitted (which has since been deleted) that he was in the running for the role.
Seeing that they are casting this role this early, even when we are no where near phase 3, could possibly mean that we could see the character in The Avengers 2, or maybe even earlier like in a cameo or a post credit scene.
What do you think? Is Chadwick the right actor for the role?

I really hope this is true. He’d be perfect!

I would really rather see Lance Gross play it.
