Man of Steel is almost here. In just a month and a week – sure it would have been easier to say five weeks, but then again you aren’t the one writing this – we will finally get to behold the long-anticipated revival of the Superman franchise whose box office fortunes have the potential to make or break the future of DC Comics film adaptations.
There is a lot riding on Man of Steel, but to their credit Warner Bros. has done a marvelous job marketing the Zack Snyder-directed movie. Anyone who wasn’t already sold on the movie were certainly won over by the action-packed recent trailer that gave us a visual we comic and movie fans have longed to see on the big screen: Superman kicking ass.
The studio has released a new Man of Steel television spot today that piles on more exciting visuals than we saw in that incredible trailer. You can check it out below.
To say that I’m liking what I’ve seen so far is an understatement so enormous in its….enormity that Big Blue himself couldn’t hurl it into space. At this point I am less concerned with whether or not Man of Steel is successful enough to spawn that Justice League feature Warners is desperately counting on; I just want to see a Superman movie that is so good it can measure up to the standards set by the 1978 classic Superman: The Movie, if not surpass them. It looks like my wish has been granted for at least the former. Time will tell if we see the latter.
Plus, Superman roars. Batman can’t do that.
Man of Steel opens in 2D and 3D on June 14, 2013. Getting excited?
