First came Shaun of the Dead in 2004. Then came Hot Fuzz in 2007. And soon, The World’s End shall arrive. But before that happens later this summer, the very first trailer for the movie has been released, and is calling to you with songs of promised joy and laughter.
None of the movies are actually related, but they all belong to the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy (also known as the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy)—a trio of movies from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Ant Man director Edgar Wright that all star Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as the leads, and all involve a little bit of blood and a little bit of ice cream. Each movie uses a specific flavor of Cornetto ice cream that fits the movie: Shaun of the Dead using a red strawberry flavor for blood and such (you’ve got red on you); Hot Fuzz using the original (blue) Cornetto for the police; and The World’s End will use the mint chocolate chip flavor, possibly signifying aliens or some kind of invasion or perhaps the result of far too much drinking.
Now, join with me in uncontrollable excitement as we continue below to watch (and re-watch) the first trailer for The World’s End!
