It’s now been over two years since we first found out about The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, a live-action prequel to Jim Henson‘s 1982 puppet feature The Dark Crystal.
We’ve since seen a teaser trailer and a featurette for the prequel series. And now, with just a couple of weeks left before the first season arrives, a final trailer has been released.

SYNOPSIS:
Based on The Dark Crystal, Jim Henson’s groundbreaking 1982 feature film, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance tells a new epic story, set many years before the events of the movie, and realized using classic puppetry with cutting edge visual effects.
The world of Thra is dying. The Crystal of Truth is at the heart of Thra, a source of untold power. But it is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.
Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel lead the show’s cast as the three main Gelflings, and they’re joined by an insane group of supporting actors who voice the various characters.
Also voicing Gelflings is Helena Bonham Carter, Caitriona Balfe, Eddie Izzard, Toby Jones, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Lena Headey, Alicia Vikander, Natalie Dormer, Mark Strong, Harris Dickinson, Shazad Latif, Hannah John-Kamen, Theo James, and Louise Gold.
The evil Skeksis and Mystics will be voiced by Simon Pegg, Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key, Mark Hamill, Andy Samberg, Jason Isaacs, Benedict Wong, Harvey Fierstein, Ralph Ineson, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Alice Dinnean, and Neil Sterenberg.
The first season of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance arrives on Netflix on August 30th.
