Co-written by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen and directed by Joss Whedon, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D television series was picked up by ABC and will premiere as part of the network’s fall lineup.
S.H.I.E.L.D is an offshoot of the mega-successful Marvel Cinematic Universe and acts as a follow-up/spinoff to Whedon’s The Avengers, which is the third highest grossing film ever. Now you can catch your first sneak peek at the show via Vine!
Clark Gregg reprises his role from the Marvel films as Phil Coulson in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., joined by Ming-Na Wen (“Agent Melinda May”), Elizabeth Henstridge (“Agent Jemma Simmons”), Iain De Caestecker (“Agent Leo Fitz”), Brett Dalton (“Agent Grant Ward”), Chloe Bennet (“Skye”), and J. August Richards. While roles for the rest of the actors have been revealed, Richards’ character is being kept under wraps, leading to speculation that he is playing an established character from the Marvel Universe.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D just released a first look at the upcoming superhero series on Vine. The six-second sneak peek shows an angry, grizzled Coulson walking with a limp, a woman being rescued from a burning building by someone with super powers (could that be Luke Cage!?), some crazy robot technology, and lots of plate smashing and ass kicking! Check out the Vine clip below:
