E3 2013: Microsoft Reveals Xbox One Cost, Release Window, No More Points

Microsoft is focusing on the games people were upset they didn’t get to see at the big Xbox One reveal last month during this E3 2013 convention, but they did take a moment to touch on some questions that still remained: price and release date.

While we don’t officially have a release date yet, the company did share that it would be arriving sometime in November of 2013, which is a step closer than the “holiday 2013” release window we had before and right around when the console was expected.

As for price, Microsoft announced that the system will launch at a price of $499, or for €499 and £429 if you live across the pond. That may seem expensive, but it’s still $100 cheaper than the PlayStation 3 originally launched for. And considering the latest iPad will run you more than this, it’s not all that bad for those planning to get the console.

Microsoft also announced that they will no longer be doing the Microsoft Points currency system, and instead will use traditional currency to set their prices for the Xbox One Marketplace.

Will you pay $499 for an Xbox One at launch?
