
I would think that if you’re not one of the over 150,000 people converging upon San Diego, CA, for its annual Comic-Con, I would think all non-convention-going travelers would steer clear of the Pacific coast city. But after a family of six dining at San Diego’s Hard Rock Cafe asked me yesterday what this big thing in town that seemed to be going on was, I realized that my presumptions were wrong. There are visitors here that are not going to Comic-Con, and boy do I feel bad for them.
Not only will non-Con visitors find the streets crowded and restaurants full, but if they’re traveling by city trolley, they’ll have to familiarize themselves with Dothraki, because for the five days of the convention, the city has changed the trolley signs to the fictional language from HBO’s Game of Thrones.
