In The Lord Of The Rings books, author J.R.R. Tolkien’s describes Bag End, the hobbit-hole home of Bilbo Baggins and his kin. The description inspired Chris Guise to recreate a miniature Bonsai landscape version of Bilbo’s home, and the end result is beautiful!

So much of Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) Mr. Chips to Scarface journey has been caged with idea that Walter was doing everything for his family. It’s much like the idea that I highlighted a few weeks ago about his Batman-esque “no killing family rule” – the origin of Heisenberg in so many ways came from a place of gray morality for Walter, a justification that was the weakest of crutches as the show progressed.

As a viewer, it’s been clear to me for a while that Walter made every choice because he wanted to do so. And last night finally provided closure to all that.

It’s always been personal for Walt. It’s the thrill, the excitement, and because he was good at being bad.

Last night saw the series finale of AMC’s hit show Breaking Bad, about a meek chemistry teacher who, after being diagnosed with cancer, goes on to become a crystal meth-making drug kingpin (well, that’s the simplified version).

During the five seasons of the show, audiences have gotten to see a lot of chemistry, but how accurate has the science been on Breaking Bad? The folks at Bytesize Science spoke to Donna Nelson, Ph.D., an organic chemistry professor who works with series creator Vince Gilligan to keep the content accurate on the show.
