Joe Wright, the Golden Globe nominated director of Atonement, is in negotiations to make a new movie about Peter Pan titled Pan for Warner Brothers.
The movie is an origins story, telling of a young orphan boy who is brought to the magical world of Neverland, where he becomes a savior to the native people, and leads a rebellion against pirates.
Wright’s other directing credits include Pride & Prejudice (2005), The Soloist, Hanna, and Anna Karenina.
The story comes from Jason Fuchs, who also penned the screenplay. Fuchs previously wrote the screenplay for Ice Age: Continental Drift, but has also done a lot of acting, and, as I’ve just discovered, played young Vincenzo Cortino in Jane Austen’s Mafia! And that’s pretty awesome.
