| Vixen Founding Lead Guitarist Jan Kuehnemund Dies At 51
Jan Kuehnemund, a founding member and lead guitarist of the all-girl hard rock band Vixen, passed away on October 10, 2013 from cancer. She was 51. Instrumental in starting the group in 1980, the band was signed to EMI eight years later, and released a self-titled debut album that held its own in the male dominated hard rock/metal genre that was sonic stock and trade at that time. The songs “Edge of a Broken Heart” and “Cryin'” (not to be confused with Aerosmith’s single released a bit later) remain memorable hits for the band, who toured in support of headline acts like Bon Jovi. Vixen would ultimately go on to release two more records. The band broke up by 1991, but have reformed in various incarnations through the years, mostly with original members, the latest one being in 2009; the record Live in Sweden remains an aural document of those proceedings.

With everything coming together for a possible January start date, multiple names are starting to emerge as possible contenders to play Hank Pym aka Ant-Man. Gravity and Captain Phillips won the top two spots at the box office this weekend, and now Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks, the lead stars of the respective films, are off traveling the world for their press tour. One of their stops took them to The Jonathan Ross Show in the U.K. Of course when it comes to these kinds of talk shows, one doesn’t just sit on the chair to chat. In fact, there is almost always some sort of funny skit or crowd-pleasing moment that will eventually find its way onto the internet. And that’s what happened here: 25 years after the release of Big, Hanks would step onto the piano floor once again to play some “Chopsticks,” the same as seen in the film. Not only that, but Bullock jumped in to join the fun. Check it out after the jump.
